Jeep has unveiled the India-bound 2020 Compass facelift but there’s no design changes inside out. It however gets more technology and a new 1.3L turbo-petrol engine.
After a lot of anticipation, Jeep has finally unveiled the 2020 Compass Facelift overseas. Yes, what you see below is the 2020 Jeep Compass Facelift. Are you wondering what’s new on this SUV. Well, by the looks of it nothing much has changed really. It was expected that Jeep would give the design of the Compass facelift a considerable overhaul with this update but the most important changes for this facelift lies under its skin. The Jeep Compass Facelift has gained a new turbo-petro engine along with more technology on the inside.
In terms of design, there’s literally no change on the SUV from the front to the rear. The face is exactly the same, the profile and rear end are identical too. While the Jeep Compass has always been a handsome looking SUV and while it still looks modern, some design changes would have been very welcome. The only noticeable change are the newly designed alloy wheels and Jeep is also offering a few new color options on the SUV.
On the inside, the dashboard design also remains identical to the pre-facelift car. What the Compass has gained is the new Uconnect Services’ infotainment system which features connected car technology. You can use your smartphone or even your watch app to operate certain features of the car. It also comes with online navigation with live traffic updates, emergency services in case of a crash as well as live status of various parameters. Other than this, the Compass also gains powered front seats, an Alpine Audio system and Ventilated front seats.
The Compass otherwise continues with all the other features it offered before. Some of these highlight features would be a panoramic sunroof, a dual-zone climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, Jeep’s Selec-Terrain AWD system. On the safety front, the Compass packs in features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control as well as collision warning and lane departure warning.

Select variants of the Compass have also been electrified with a new plug-in hybrid 4Xe powertrain that makes up to 240PS of power. Jeep has also retuned the handling and suspension of the Compass for which it should have a better driving experience.

The new 1.3L turbo-petrol engine is set to replace the existing 1.4L turbo-petrol engine in the Compass globally. We are however not very sure if this engine would make it to India. The Compass could continue with its existing 1.4L turbo-petrol and 2.0L diesel engines in India. The Jeep Compass facelift will be launched in the Indian market sooner or later but we do not have a specific timeline as of yet.
