2020 Jaguar F-Type Launches in India for a Starting Price of Rs 95.12 lakh!

The 2020 Jaguar F-Type facelift gets a comprehensive makeover both inside and out and the price for this sports car in India now starts from Rs 95.12 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.42 Crore.

Jaguar introduced a mid-life facelift for the F-Type in the international market in October last year and now, the car has made it to India. This is quite a news because even amidst this lockdown, Jaguar has launched the F-Type facelift in India. The 2020 Jaguar F-Type is now available in India for a starting price of Rs 95.12 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 2.42 crore, all prices ex-showroom. The 2020 Jaguar F-Type comes with a brand new design and much more tech on the inside.

While there are significant changes to the styling of the car, its instantly recognizable as an F-Type. It is the face that sees the most amount of change, particularly because of the new headlamps. The headlamp units have been completely redesigned and they now very slim pixel LED horizontal units as opposed to the vertical units of the pre-facelift car. Further, there’s a larger single-frame grille, striking new clamshell bonnet, and a revised front bumper with larger air dams.

In profile, the F-Type remains largely similar and the shoulder line over the muscular rear haunches still remains the most distinctive design element. It also gets brand new wheels. The rear end also remains relatively unchanged but the bumpers have been redesigned with quad exhaust and better aerodynamic efficiency. The tail lights are also slimmer than before. On the inside, the cabin remains relatively unchanged in its layout and honestly, it was always a likable design. However, there’s much more tech now with new 12.3-inch digital instrument console as well as a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs the new InControl Touch Pro interface with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The overall quality of materials within the cabin has improved over the predecessor.

Jaguar offers the F-Type with a variety of engines in the international market, starting with inline-fours, V6s and V8s. For India however, Jaguar has brought two of the engine options from the F-Type range – a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 300hp and 400Nm of torque (P300) and a 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 in two states of tune. There’s the P450 with 450hp and 580Nm of torque, and the range-topping P575 with 575hp and 700Nm. All the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The P300 and the P450 are rear-wheel drive while the P575 is an all-wheel drive model.

Jaguar has brought along the entire F-Type range all at once and that includes the convertible variants as well. The price for the 2020 Jaguar F-Type Convertible starts from Rs 1.06 crore. All in all, there are as many as nine versions of the 2020 F-Type facelift to chose from in India. The convertible versions have the same specifications as the coupes and will only slightly differ in performance due to 20kgs of extra weight. There’s also a First Edition model on offer that adds some additional special bits on the inside as well as outside like diamond-turned 20-inch alloy wheels, First Edition treadplates and a dark satin grey exterior detailing. Deliveries for the F-Type facelift will only start towards the end of the yeas as and when the current situation has normalized.
