Based on three sources, we can now confirm that the 2020 Hyundai Verna will be cheaper than the BS4 Verna as its prices have been revealed.
From our dealership sources, we got to know that the 2020 Hyundai Verna will be cheaper than the BS4 version. Its prices will start off at Rs 9.30 Lakhs going up to Rs 14 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Also, from reports of Gaadiwaadi and Autocar India, we can confirm these prices.
The BS4 Verna was priced from Rs 8.17 Lakhs up to Rs 14.07 Lakhs. The E and EX variant from the BS4 version has now been replaced by the S variant. So, EX variant of the BS4 is now the S (base) variant of 2020 Verna, the latter offering more features.
The prices of diesel variant start off at Rs 10.65 Lakhs going up to Rs 13.96 Lakhs. That makes the SX(O) Turbo DCT variant just Rs 4,000 costlier than the top-spec diesel trim. The bookings have already commenced and the deliveries will commence in the first week of May. That depends if the lockdown is over by April 15 and things start getting normal.

Our dealership sources were suggesting that there will be atleast a month’s waiting period on the 2020 Hyundai Verna. For the new Creta, it might be higher. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Hyundai has stopped the production at its Tamil Nadu plant.
The new Verna will get all-new engines including 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines and a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol. The petrol engine pumps out 115 PS and 143 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel unit gives out 115 PS and 255 Nm of peak torque.
The 1.0 Litre turbo petrol engine comes from the Hyundai Venue, producing the same power figures. The unit puts out 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque, making it the current most powerful sedan in its class. It would be better if the turbo engine came with the option of a 6-speed MT as well, but it rather gets a 7-speed DCT as standard.
Features onboard include a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Blue Link technology, ventilated seats, electric sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlamps, LED projector headlamps, wireless charger, digital instrument cluster and much more. For safety, it now gets front parking sensors, all-disc brakes and six airbags, additionally.
