Here are all the differences detailed between the new 2020 Hyundai i20 and the older version. The new i20 has been launched in India.
Hyundai has finally launched the new generation 2020 i20 in India, with prices starting at Rs 6.79 Lakhs. The bookings have now commenced across the country and deliveries are expected to commence towards the end of this month. Here are all the changes and differences that we see from the old i20 to the new i20.

The difference between the variants is considerably higher, but there are tons of upgrades to follow as well. While the old i20 ended at just Rs 8.32 Lakhs, the new i20 goes up to Rs 11.17 Lakhs.

The new i20 will come with three engine options while the old i20 only came with a petrol engine. Its diesel engine was discontinued earlier this year due to the BS4 emission norms. The new i20 shares the same 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine with the old i20. New additions include a 100 PS producing 1.5 Litre turbo-diesel engine and a 120 PS producing 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor.

As the diesel engine was discontinued, the i20 also lost out on its CVT variants. This was done to shift the entire focus on the production of new i20. The new model gets five gearbox options. Like earlier, the petrol engine comes with a 5-speed MT and a CVT. The diesel engine gets a 6-speed manual stick and no AT. The turbo motor gets a DCT unit and the latest 6-speed iMT (Clutchless manual gearbox).

The new i20 is marginally bigger than the older model. The length has increased by 10mm, width by 41mm and the wheelbase by 10mm. The height remains the same as earlier at 1505mm. In terms of cabin space, the shoulder room and legroom have increased by 40mm and 88mm respectively.
6. More Safety
The new i20 gets a stronger body structure with 66% high strength steel used now. It also gets an all-new light weight K-platform which is more safety advanced. New safety features include:
