We expect the next-gen i20 Active to get dual-tone alloy wheels, hexagonal grille, new headlamp design with LED DRLs, new fog lamp set up and among others
The next-gen Hyundai i20 Active has been spied in India and is expected to be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will come with BS6 engines upon launch and the prices for the same will be increased from the ongoing model.
If reports are to be believed then the 2020 Hyundai i20 Active will be produced at the Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh, India. This plant is managed by Kia Motors where they have manufactured the Seltos.
It is the first time that the next-gen i20 Active has been caught on Indian roads. To be precise, then the Active is a crossover version of the normal Elite i20. With more beefier looks and increased dimensions, the i20 Active provides ruggedness to the car.

The designing bit of the new i20 Active will be similar to the Elite i20 and will pack the same amount of comfort and convenience features. The hatchback will also get LED taillight treatment and will continue with the roof rails.
Talking about the engine specifications then it will continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor. This motor generates 82 bhp with 115 Nm of peak torque. Transmission option includes a 5-speed manual gearbox. The normal Elite i20 also comes with a CVT gearbox as an automatic option.
The i20 Active currently sees a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine which also houses in the Elite i20. However, once the new car comes in, we can expect a new 1.5L diesel motor. This will be shared with the Hyundai Verna and Creta too but we believe the power figures will be detuned for both Elite i20 and i20 Active. This will be done to keep the price in competition and fair it good amongst its competitors.
Since the Hyundai Elite i20 and i20 Active gt the same amount of feature, engine specifications and interior details, there are reports that a sunroof is expected too. This will the first in its segment as no other hatchback gets this feature.

Following the interiors then it will get a revamped dashboard design followed by new seat upholstery. Also, one might see a new steering wheel too. Safety features like dual front airbag, Anti Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Front Seat Belt Reminders, High Speed Alert System and among others. The top trims will see multiple airbags as safety features.
With the new design, updated engines and loads of additional features, we expect the price of the Hyundai i20 Active to go up by a certain margin. The current price stands at Rs 7.81 lakh for the base trim and top model fetches to Rs 10.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
