Here’s a spy shot suggesting what you could get with the base variant of the upcoming new generation 2020 Honda City.
As per media reports, the launch of new generation 2020 Honda City has been postponed to May, next month. Earlier, Honda was supposed to unveil the sedan in March itself. As per our dealership sources, a couple of them already received the new units before lockdown.
The 2020 Honda City will boast of many segment-first features. The new City will now compete more fiercely with the Hyundai Verna facelift. Now, Gaadiwaadi has leaked the interior shots of the base variant of the new City, suggesting the possible features.
2020 Honda City Base Variant Features
- Multi-Function Steering Control with Audio And Phone Controls
- 2-DIN Music System with Bluetooth and Call Function
- Front USB Charger
- New Twin Pod Analogue Speedometer with A MID
- Manual AC with Rotary Dials (No Touchscreen)
- Grey Coloured Seats
- Dual Tone Dashboard Theme

There are a couple of more features which will be revealed later, towards the launch. The standard safety features will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and front passenger seat belt reminder
The higher end variants will get premium features like a 20.3 cm touchscreen infotainment with inbuilt Alexa, Lane-Watch camera, full LED headlamps, electric sunroof, automatic AC control and much more. Safety features will include Tyre Pressure Monitoring, six airbags, VSA, front parking sensors, rear parking camera and Hill Start Assist.
Engine options will be the same as earlier. The new City will run on its 1.5 Litre i-VTEC and 1.5 Litre i-DTEC engines. The power figures will increase by a small margin. Also, there are chances that Honda could equip the petrol engine with a small mild-hybrid technology.

Finally, the new City will also get the diesel-CVT combination. This combination first came on Amaze and was well appreciated among buyers. The petrol engine will get a 5-speed MT, whereas the diesel will get a 6-speed MT. CVT will be offered with both the units.
