The 2020 BMW X6 was unveiled globally earlier this month and shares most of its interior design with the recently launched X5. The coupe SUV sits on the CLAR platform.
After successfully launching the 2020 BMW 7-series and the flagship SUV X7, the company is gearing up for the coupe SUV X6, launch in India too. The car has been spotted by Rushlane and the camouflaged gives a clear view of how the vehicle will look like.
The third-generation BMW X6 made its global premiere earlier this month and we expect it to get launched by the 2020 festive season in India. It shares the same CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform with the BMW X5. The butch looking SUV retains its silhouette and continues to to be big and muscular, just like the previous generation.
The front fascia of the SUV receives the illuminated kidney grille, angular LED headlights with laser light technology. At the sides, the roofline switch into the boot giving it an agile looking side profile.

The rear fascia takes inspiration from the second-generation X4, especially at the taillights and the heavily angled tailgate. The availability of faux air vents on the rear fenders makes the car look more aggressive-looking and the overall design is more or less similar to the previous generation X6.
The interior of the 2020 X6 is shared with the X5 and gets leather upholstery and twin 12.3-inch instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. It gets its own voice assistant, ‘Hey BMW’. It also gets features like wireless charging, WiFi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and among others.
The new BMW X6 measures at 4,935 mm in length, 2,004 mm in width and wheelbase standing out at 2,975 mm. In total, it is 26 mm longer, 15 mm wider and gets 42 mm of stretched wheelbase.
The suspension setup of the BMW X6 gets a double-wishbone at the front and multilink setup at the rear. It also sports air suspension which adjusts the ride height by 80 mm and also gets four driving modes on offer.

Talking about the powertrain of the 2020 BMW X6, it gets both petrol and diesel-powered engines. The xDrive40i, 3.0-litre, in-line six-cylinder petrol turbocharged unit delivers 340 bhp with 540 Nm of peak torque. The other petrol, M50i is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 producing 530 bhp with 750 Nm of torque.
The oil burner, xDrive30d gets a 3.0L, in-line, six-cylinder, turbocharged unit producing 265 bhp with 620 Nm of peak torque. The bigger motor, M50d, generates a whopping 400 bhp with 700 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options for all engines include an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It is not sure which of these engines will make through in the Indian markets.
Safety features for the 2020 BMW X6 include ABS, Traction control, Lane Assist, Park distance control, Active driving assistant and among others. It is expected to be priced at Rs 95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
