The new 2020 Audi Q3 is expected to be priced around Rs. 45 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be powered by just one 2.0L, TSI petrol engine with 190 bhp.
According to a report by Zigwheels, we have come to know that Audi will launch the all-new 2020 Q3 in India in March 2020. The 2020 Audi Q3 will come with BS-6 compliant petrol engines and is is expected that this premium compact SUV will be priced in the range of Rs 45 lakh to Rs 50 lakh (on-road). The 2020 Audi Q3 is the third product that will come to India under Audi’s plan to introduce nine all-new cars by the end of 2020. Let’s take a closer look at what the new Q3 has to offer.
This is the second generation of the SUV and the new car adopts much sharper lines as opposed to the soft flowing lines of the current Q3 on sale in India. That makes the Q3 look substantially sportier as well. The front-end gets Audi’s new trademark vertical slat grille that are flanked by LED headlamps that have also been redesigned. The bumpers have new, larger faux air dams which give the SUV a very sporty appeal.
In profile, the new Q3 looks largely similar to the current model with a shoulder line flowing cleanly through the profile. There are new 10-spoke alloy wheels though. At the rear, there is a new tailgate with a sharply raked windscreen and LED tail lamps with new detailing. The bumpers have been completely redesigned to continue with the sport theme of the SUV.
It is however on the inside where there are the more significant changes. The dashboard has been completely redesigned and it looks much more in line with newer and more premium Audis. The 10.1-inch MMI infotainment system for the Q3 is brand new and it also gets the Virtual Cockpit but it does not get the dual-screen setup seen in more expensive Audis. The AC control stack has been left to physical buttons, thankfully.
It is pretty well loaded on the features front as well. It gets connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, cruise control as well as powered front seats. Radar-based safety systems like adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and active lane assist are offered in the UK-spec model. However, these are unlikely to be present in the India-spec model.

Under the hood, the 2020 Auid Q3 will be powered by one BS-6 compliant petrol engine only. Although the international spec Q3 comes with a range of petrol and diesel engines, Audi announced they will not bring anymore diesel cars to India some time ago. The powertrain that will come is expected to be a 2.0-litre TSI engine that puts out 190bhp and 320Nm of torque. It might be offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and could come with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The 2020 Audi Q3 will continue its rivalry with the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA in India. However, with no diesel engine option, it puts Audi in a slight disadvantage as both BMW and Mercedes-Benz will continue offering diesel engines inthe X1 and the GLA, even after the BS-6 emission norms.
