The digital instrument cluster will also be upgraded, to display more information such as distance to empty. The sculpted beefy fuel tank will be redesigned to fit into the aggressive look. The rear portion will remain the same.
As we all know, the international-spec Yamaha R3 receives a different set of alloy wheels. Most likely, the India-spec version will retain its multi-spoke alloy wheel design.
Mechanically, it will continue with the same 321cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine. The motor delivers 42 BHP and 29.6 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox setup.

For suspension, the international version uses 37mm KYB USD forks and link-type rear monoshock unit. Here, we will get the conventional telescopic forks in a bid to decrease the prices.
Since it is a CKD unit, Yamaha could consider it manufacturing locally. It is currently one of the most expensive bikes in its segment, priced at Rs 3.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
It competes with the likes of KTM Duke 390, BMW G 310 R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Benelli 302R. Amongst these, Duke 390 is the most affordable one. Even Kawasaki now manufactures the heavily localized Ninja 300 in India.
