2019 Toyota Corolla has been unveiled globally. The new-generation Corolla receives a new design, feature upgrades and a new engine. It is also built on a new platform, which undermines Camry and Prius.
2019 Toyota Corolla has been unveiled at the ongoing 2019 Guangzhou Motor Show. Its launch is scheduled to happen in the international markets by early next year.
Now, the new Corolla is also available in the Hybrid powertrain. Earlier, Hybrid engines were available only in Camry and Prius.
In the Indian market, this sedan is known as Corolla Altis. The new-gen sedan receives a variety of feature upgrades and choices of engines to choose for.
The new Corolla now uses the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, which comes in Camry and Prius. The new platform is agile and is a bit wider than the earlier one.

The changes on the exterior include revised bumper set, new headlamps and an overall more aggressive design. Also, a new set of alloy wheels come along with the 2019 Toyota Corolla.
Now, it looks similar to Camry, because of the similar roofline, silhouette and the rear portion of the sedan. However, 2019 Toyota Corolla still follows a tradition styled look, like Camry and Prius.
Inside the cabin, it gets a dual-tone black and grey combination, which makes it looks more premium than ever. The dashboard looks very neat and balanced, with minimum knobs around. Also, it gets a large floating touch-screen infotainment system, atop the dashboard.

For engine purposes, it uses the new 2.0 Litre petrol engine. The engine is capable of producing 171 BHP max. and 205 Nm of peak torque. The hybrid engine will be introduced later in most of the markets. 2019 Toyota Corolla comes only in petrol variant, like its earlier model.
For transmission purposes, the engine pairs up with a 6-speed manual gearbox with an option of a CVT gearbox.
The new Corolla also gets an upgraded list of safety features. It now gets collision avoidance and mitigation system, radar-based cruise control, lane departure assist and road recognition system. However, most of the features would not come in the India-spec model.

As of now, there are no official confirmations about its India launch. Corolla is one of the popular ones in its segment. As per early reports say, the next-gen Corolla that comes in the Chinese Market will be India’s new Corolla Altis.
In India, Toyota Corolla Altis goes up against Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and the upcoming new Honda Civic.
