Mitsubishi is reportedly planning to bring the 2019 Pajero facelift to India soon. It will be launched in Thailand on the 25th of July, this year.
Mitsubishi is planning to update the Pajero Sport and the facelifted version will be launched next week in Thailand. Reports suggest that the same facelift will make its way to the Indian market, this year itself.
In India, we have the Pajero Sport which last received an update in 2015. After that, its sales have fallen down and now we can barely see any of them on the road. The good-ol’ Pajero was much more popular and rugged looking.
The 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Facelift is expected to be launched in India by the end of 2019 and not in the festive season. Interestingly, it will look a lot more different than the outgoing version of the Indian market.

Last year, Mitsubishi launched the facelift of Pajero Sport in Thailand but missed out for the update for the Indian market. It rivals the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan and Honda CR-V.
On the front, the 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero facelift gets the Dynamic shield fascia, which makes it look like the bigger Outlander. The headlamps now get sleeker and a new LED DRL has been added on both the sides.
It gets a new fully digital instrument console and revised tail lights as well. As said earlier, this design will be completely new for the Indian market, which still continues without any cosmetic upgrade.

When launched in India, it will come with a BS-6 compliant engine. Currently, it comes with a 2.5 Litre DI engine, that produces 178 BHP at 4000 RPM and 350 Nm of peak torque. There are chances of it getting a new 2. 4 Litre unit, that produces 181 BHP and 430 Nm of torque.
The current model comes with the option of a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AT, which will be replaced by the 8-speed AT on the new Pajero. It will continue with the 4WD system, which now comes only on the manual gearbox.
Expect its prices to increase by a small margin, from the current starting price of Rs 28.35 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
