The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ignis comes with the addition of roof-rails on the Zeta and Alpha variants along with a few additions to its standard safety features.
Maruti Suzuki has today launched the 2019 iteration of the Ignis compact hatchback in India. The updated Ignis now comes with roof-rails on the top-spec Zeta and Alpha trims. In addition to this, this hatchback’s standard safety feature list has also been updated. Right from the base variant onwards, the Ignis is now available with rear parking sensors, passenger seatbelt reminder and high-speed alert system.
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis was already available with dual-front airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorage points along with ABS with EBD as standard fitments across the range. In addition to this, this compact hatchback already meets the front-offset impact compliance, side-impact compliance and pedestrian protection compliance.

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, the rest of the specifications along with the variant wise feature list of the Ignis remains the same as before. The top-spec Alpha variant continues to offer features such as LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, steering mounted audio controls to name a few.
The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ignis continues to offer the same engine line-up as before. It is currently available with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which is cable of churning out 82 BHP of power along with 113 NM of peak torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and there is a 5-speed AMT on offer as well on select variants.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis was also available with a 1.3-litre diesel engine. However, the same was discontinued at a later stage due to lack of demand. The oil-burner was the same unit which currently does its duty on the Swift and the Baleno. This engine was capable to produce 74 BHP of power along with 190 Nm of peak torque.
The prices for the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ignis have been increased slightly in-comparison to the outgoing model. Earlier, this car used to retail in-between the mark of INR 4.67 lakh to INR 7.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the prices of the Ignis falls in-between the price range of INR 4.79 lakh to INR 7.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
