The MY 2019 Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with additional safety features as standard. Also, it now meets the pedestrian, offset and side impact compliance.
With 2019 bringing in a host of updates related to vehicle safety in India, automakers have now started to update their respective models, ahead of the proposed deadlines. Maruri Suzuki, the country largest carmaker is silently updating its models too. And the recent one to join the bandwagon is the Celerio hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki has updated the Cerlerio for the model year 2019. With this update, this compact hatchback is now available with several safety features as standard.
From now on, this hatchback is going to get driver side airbag, ABS, driver and passenger seat belt warning, a high-speed alert system as standard across the range. Other standard safety features include rear parking sensors.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio was recently given a mid-life facelift. As a result of this, the MY 2019 model does not get any cosmetic revisions. The changes are limited to the updating of safety features alone.

In addition to updating the safety feature list on the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, the carmaker has also updated its prices. The hatchback is now available at a starting price of INR 4.30 lakh to INR 5.47 lakh (ex-showroom).
The engine specifications of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio remain the same as before as well. It continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This motor is capable of churning out 67 BHP of power along with 90Nm of peak torque.

There is a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. In addition to this there is also a 5-speed AMT unit on offer as well.
This vehicle competes against the likes of Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and the Hyundai Santro.
Several media reports state that the Celerio is soon going to get a major generation update. It is expected that the launch of the same is likely to take place sometime later this year.
