Bookings of the 2019 Honda Civic have commenced officially from 15th February. The launch of the sedan has been confirmed for 7th March.

HCIL has commenced the official bookings for the new-gen Honda Civic for a booking amount of Rs 31,000. The launch is scheduled to happen on 7th March 2019. The 7th Generation Civic will be launched here.
The Civic was discontinued in 2013, where we got the 8th generation. Now after 6 years, it again makes a grand entry in the Indian market, in the premium sedan category.

2019 Honda Civic comes will be available in petrol as well as diesel guises. It uses a 1.8 Litre i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.6 Litre i-DTEC diesel engine from the Earth Dream technology series.
The petrol engine is capable of producing 139 BHP and 174 Nm of peak torque, mated to a CVT automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 118 BHP and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Honda claims that the new Civic will offer 16.5 kmpl on the petrol engine and 26.8 kmpl on the diesel engine. The diesel engine offers one of the best mileage figures in the segment.

Features onboard include LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, a fully digital 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, 7-inch touchscreen display, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, smart entry, remote engine starter and an electric sunroof.
Safety features onboard include six-airbags, lane-keeping assist, ABS with EBD, Handling assist, stability control, Hill-start assist, Rear Parking Camera and Automatic brake hold.
We expect the 2019 Honda Civic to be priced between Rs 16 Lakhs to Rs 20 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). The on-road prices could easily cross Rs 20 Lakhs for the mid-variant.

It will compete with the likes of Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis. Currently, this segment is dominated by Elantra and Corolla.
