BMW has launched the new fourth generation X5 in India at a starting price of 72.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Main addition includes a new 3.0 Litre BS-6 diesel engine.
BMW India has launched the fourth-generation of its most popular SUV, the X5. It is available in three variants – M Sport, Sport and XLine trims. The prices start from Rs 72.9 Lakhs up to Rs 82.40 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
The all-new X5 is based on the CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform which makes the car lighter. It comes with air suspensions on all four corners and four-wheel drive steering.
BMW X5 Exteriors
The first thing you will notice is the front grille which is now larger than the previous generation. The car gets new LED headlamps with the new LED fog lights, that are housed in the agile air damps. The front looks of the car looks imposing and sharp.
The side profile looks more or less the same as the previous generation but has grown in dimensions so it looks bigger. Also, the sharp lines and curves all over the car make it look aesthetically good. The rear design is welcomed by the LED tail lamps which have now grown in size.
Interiors
The 2019 BMW X5 sports a new dashboard design which is seen in the recent BMW’s.
The car gets twin 12.3- inch screens, one for the infotainment system and one for instrument cluster for the driver
It gets features like gesture control for the infotainment system. Gets connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging, remote parking, remote start and more.
Engine
BMW X5 is now available with two engine options, one diesel and one petrol engine
The 3.0 Litre Diesel engine offers 265hp and 620 Nm of peak torque. The 3.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine produces 340 BHP and 450 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The diesel variant sprints from 0-100 km/hr in 6.5 seconds and the petrol model does the same sprint in 5.5 seconds.
Additionally, it gets BMW’s Parking Assistant Plus, which enables the self-parking system for the car. The feature list remains the same that comes on the earlier X5.
BMW X5 goes against the likes of Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90 and the Land Rover Discovery.
