For engine purposes, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift will now come with a new 1.5 Litre K-Series petrol engine. It is developed by Maruti itself and will replace the 1.4 Litre unit. On the other hand, it will retain its age-old 1.3 Litre DDiS diesel engine. The petrol unit churns out 104 BHP of power and 138 Nm of torque. The diesel one gives 88 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque.
Fulfilling the transmission duties will be a 5-speed Manual Gearbox along with a 4-speed Automatic one. The diesel unit might get a 6-speed Manual Gearbox or will continue with the usual 5-speed one. Also, the Smart Hybrid system of Maruti will now come in the petrol variant too. Earlier, it was only available in diesel variants. The SHVS feature increases the fuel efficiency. The petrol variant returns a mileage of 21.56 kmpl and the diesel one will give around 28 kmpl.

Changes on the exterior body include a new front grille, LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a revised front bumper. Whilst in the rear side, it might just get a new LED tail light. Inside the sedan, there will be a similar dual-tone color layout. Overall, the cabin remains similar but might get some wood or silver accents on the dashboard. Also, there might be a new design of the seat fabric.
As we earlier talked about the price, it competes with Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, and Honda City. Verna is the most feature loaded, Yaris is the safest sedan and City is the most comfortable one. So, what will Ciaz be? It might be the cheapest in its segment or the most fuel-efficient one. Stay tuned to CarBlogIndia for more updates on the upcoming 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift.
