2018 Maruti Ertiga launched in India- Prices, Features And Specs

2018 Maruti Ertiga has been launched in India today. The new-gen MPV gets bigger, more features and a new mild-hybrid petrol engine. Prices start at Rs 7.44 lakh. 

The latest generation of Maruti Ertiga has been introduced in India. The second-generation already made its debut in Indonesia, a couple of months back.

New Ertiga gets slightly bigger in length and offers more features spread across all variants. It also gets a new 1.5 Litre K15B petrol engine, that first debuted in new Ciaz. The engine is not BS-6 compliant yet.

The prices of Ertiga start off at Rs 7.44 Lakh going up to Rs 10.90 lakh.

The bookings for MPV have already begun and the deliveries are going to start by end of November.

Here is the detailed variant wise price list of the new MPV:

2018 Maruti Ertiga gets the newly developed 1.5 Litre K15B petrol engine. The engine puts out 103 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, it continues with the same 1.3 Litre DDiS diesel engine, that produces 88 BHP and 200 Nm of torque.

Now, both petrol and diesel engines are offered with mild-hybrid SHVS system as standard fitment. Earlier, it came only in diesel variant.

For transmission purposes, the petrol unit pairs up with a 5-speed manual and an optional Automatic Unit. Diesel engine gets a 5-speed MT, without an option of an Automatic unit.

Since it a new generation model, it has received a major design overhaul, differentiating from the older one. It gets a bigger and revised front chrome mesh, new projector headlamps, new front and rear bumpers and a bit more dramatic with the creases. The alloy wheels are also new but sadly, not diamond-cut alloys.

2018 Maruti Ertiga now gets many more features, making it much more premium than the previous generation. On the exterior, it gets projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED Tail Lamps and Electric ORVMs.

Inside the cabin, it gets looks very similar to the Indonesian-spec Ertiga. 2018 Maruti Ertiga gets features such as:

2. Remote keyless entry
3. Day/night inside rear view mirror
4. Steering-mounted audio and telephony controls
5. Central locking
6. 60:40 split-folding second row of seats
7. 50:50 split-folding third row of seats
8. Automatic climate control
9. Push button start/stop
10. Front seatbelt height adjust
11. 12V charging port in all three rows
12. SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation

Safety features onboard new Ertiga include:

• ABS with EBD
• Isofix child seat mounts
• Speed sensitive door locks
• Rear parking sensors
• Electronic Stability Program (AT)
• Hill Hold Function (AT)
• Rear parking camera

Coming on to the dimensions, we earlier stated that it has grown in length, width and height. 2018 Maruti Ertiga is now 4395mm in length, over 99mm longer than the current gen. It measures 1735mm wide, 1690mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2740mm. The width has increased by 40mm and height has increased by 5mm.

2018 Maruti Ertiga is now available in following colour options:

• Auburn Red
• Magma Grey
• Oxford Blue
• Arctic White
• Silky Silver

As of now, Ertiga receives no direct competition. Its nearest rivals include Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy. While Marazzo is priced above Ertiga, Lodgy comes in a similar price range. However, because of Ertiga’s efficient engine and Maruti’s trust, Ertiga will be one of the popular MPVs.
