The 2018 Maruti Ertiga is likely to launch in India by the end of November this year; precisely, on the 21st of the said month. All you need to know.
In a recent report, we informed you that the 2018 Maruti Ertiga might launch in India during the last week of November this year. Now, latest media report confirms this speculation as it states that the launch of the new Ertiga will take place on the 21st of November this year.
Maruti Suzuki had earlier scheduled the launch of the 2018 Ertiga (Read More) in India during the last week of October. However, due to the approaching festive season which results in an increased demand, the automaker postponed the launch by about a month. It gave priority to the sale of existing models like the Vitara Brezza, Baleno and Ciaz, focusing on clearing the current backlog of these aforementioned models.

The test mules of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga have been doing their rounds on the Indian roads. The latest iteration of this MPV has already made its debut in the Indonesian markets. Since India and Indonesia get almost similarly spec cars, most of the details regarding the new Ertiga are already with us.
For instance, we can confirm that the 2018 Maruti Ertiga is going to launch in India with an all-new petrol engine. This is the same 1.5-litre unit which made its debut in our country with the face-lift Ciaz. Not only this but just as we see on the Ciaz, this gasoline driven engine is going to come with a mild-hybrid system by default.

This new engine will generate 107 BHP of power along with 138 NM of peak torque. Due to the SHVS technology, expect fuel the efficiency figure to stand above 20 km/l. As standard, this engine is going to get a 5-speed manual gearbox across all variants. Furthermore, select variants will also get the option of a 4-speed torque converter automatic unit.
As far as the diesel engine is concerned, we are expecting the same to remain as it is. The 1.3-litre, DDiS oil-burner will continue to perform its duties on the 2018 Maruti Ertiga as well. This engine is capable of producing 88 BHP along with 200 Nm of peak torque. Just like before, it will also feature the SHVS mild-Hybrid technology. As a result, mileage numbers will stand close to 28 km/l.

Except for its wheelbase, every other measurement of the new Ertiga is unique of the older one. The new iteration of this MPV has increased in its dimensions by a substantial margin than its predecessor.
