2018 Maruti Ertiga is going to launch in India on the 21st of November this year. Here are all the changes and upgrades that this MPV is going to receive.
Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the second generation iteration of the Ertiga MPV in India on the 21st of November this year. Already on sale in the Indonesian market, the new Ertiga comes with a host of new features and mechanical alterations. Not only is it based on an all-new platform but now it also comes with a brand new, petrol engine coupled with the SHVS mild-hybrid technology. In this report, we bring you all the changes and upgrades that you can expect from the 2018 Maruti Ertiga.
As you may already know, the exteriors of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga (Read More) will be completely different from the current iteration. Thanks to the new platform, this MPV has grown in all proportions. It is now longer, wider and also offer more wheelbase. The new design language, with its sharp creases and bold lines, makes this MPV look quite contemporary. Its sharp design gives it a sporty appearance. In comparison, the current spec version looks more curvaceous.
The new Maruti Ertiga is going to come with sleek headlamps. They are going to get projector units and LED lamps on the top-end variant. Similarly, the rear light will also have LED treatment. This MPV is going to come with a new set of alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga now comes with its own unique dashboard layout. In contrast to the current spec version, borrows its layout from older Dzire. The new dashboard offers a dual-tone colour scheme. All the panels inside the cabin will be new in design. From door pads to the layout of the central tunnel, everything gets an all-new look.
With this generation upgrade, there will be a significant jump in terms of the Ertiga’s equipment list. Top-end variants are going to come with a new Smartplay infotainment system. Furthermore, there will be an automatic climate control unit. Also, it will get day and night rear view mirror, driver’s seat height adjustment along with steering adjustment. Top-end variants can even get leather upholstery. In addition to the rear air-con vents, the MPV will also come with a rear armrest.

In addition to the design and feature upgrades, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga will also get an all-new petrol engine. This new K15B unit will replace the existing K14B. This gasoline driven engine is a 4-cylinder unit. It is capable of producing 107 BHP along with 138 Nm of peak torque. As standard, it will get a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, there will be an automatic variant also on offer. Just like the updated Maruti Ciaz, the new Ertiga will get Suzuki’s SHVS mild-hybrid with the petrol variant.
So far there is no word on the diesel derivative of this car. It is likely that Maruti will continue with the same 1.3-litre DDiS unit. It is going to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard with no automatic on offer.

For safety, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga is going to get dual-airbags with ABS and EBD as standard fitments. In addition to this, there will be ISOFIX child-seat mounts and rear parking sensors also on offer. The top-end variant is also going to come with a rear parking camera.
The prices for the new Ertiga are likely to go up considering the addition of several new features and the use of an all-new platform. Nevertheless, they will continue to fall in the range of INR 6.5 lakhs to 10.5 lakhs.
