Images of 2018 Mahindra XUV500 Appear Online for the First Time. Will be a Comprehensive Facelift. Launch Likely in First-half of 2018
In a surprise of sorts, it has come to light that Mahindra and Mahindra,, the popular Indian UV maker, has been busy readying a comprehensive facelift for the XUV500. The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 will most likely launch in the first-half of next year. It is the first time that a test mule of the upcoming SUV has been caught. You can see the 2018 XUV500 testing with an S201 test mule in the spy images we have here. The facelifted XUV500 will carry a host of visual updates for the exterior and interior. Rumours abound that it will even boast better specifications owing to the introduction of a more powerful engine.
In spite of a heavy camouflage, it is pretty easy to make out from the pictures that the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift will get a set of new design alloy wheels. The new 10-spoke rims look much like the ones seen on the XUV Aero Concept from the previous Auto Expo. Also, it seems like the headlamps and the taillamps of the facelift won’t see a major change.

2018 Mahindra XUV500 Specifications
Other than a host of visual enhancements, the 2018 XUV 500 will even boast healthier specifications. This will be due to the introduction of a more powerful engine. It’s very likely that the current 2.2-litre mHawk Diesel engine will get a new state-of-tune for additional power. This will ensure that the XUV remains the most powerful SUV in the company’s line up. It must be noted here that the upcoming Scorpio facelift will reportedly come with the 140 hp 2.2-litre motor that powers the XUV500 currently. Akin to the current model, even the facelift will be available in 2WD and 4WD formats. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be available.
2018 Mahindra XUV500 Launch Date
Like we have been saying, details are really scarce at the moment. Except for the couple of spy images you see here, there’s not even a single piece of information available online. However, it doesn’t look like the updated SUV will look too different from the model on sale at the moment. Hence, Mahindra should be done with the development of the new model in near future. An Auto Expo 2018 debut can’t really be ruled out. Expect the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 to launch by May 2018.
