The latest news is that the 2018 Hyundai Santro is launching on 23rd October. The modern and stylish tall-boy is all set to enter the Indian market. Regularly, some or the other news regarding the upcoming hatchback is coming online. Last week, we reported that the base variant of the Santro will cost Rs 2.99 Lakhs. We do not know the prices of the top-end variant, but will mostly cost around Rs 5 Lakhs. As per our expectations, the Santro will be a very feature-equipped hatchback. The hatchback will take upon the likes of Wagon-R, Renault Kwid, and the higher-variants would compete with some variants of Celerio.

The pre-bookings of the hatchback will begin on 10th October and will continue up to 22nd October. The sketches reveal that it will maintain its tall-boy stance. The Santro will be wider than the earlier one but not taller as the earlier Santro. It is reported that Santro will have a very spacious cabin.
Now the latest news about the features of 2018 Hyundai Santro says that it gets a segment first rear-AC vents. The higher variants might feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Electrically Adjustable ORVMs, Steering Mounted Controls, Automatic Climate Control, Bluetooth telephone, reverse parking sensors with a camera and much more. With this features, it surely will be the most equipped in its segment.

For safety, the 2018 Hyundai Santro is very likely to receive dual front airbags and ABS as standard fitment across all the variants. The higher-end variants could offer EBD, Seat Pretensioners and ISOFIX mount.
Coming to the engine specifications of the tall-boy, it will use a 1.1 Litre petrol engine. The earlier Santro also featured a 1.1 Litre petrol engine. This engine produces around 63 BHP of power and 95 Nm of torque. The claimed fuel-efficiency of the Santro is around 20 kmpl.
For transmission, the Hyundai Santro will get a 5-speed Manual transmission. Owing to the increasing competition, Hyundai might also offer an optional AMT gearbox for this hatchback. The AMT variant might offer a mileage of around 18 kmpl.

Lastly, we expect it to go against its age-old rival, Maruti Suzuki WagonR. Sadly, this time it would not match the height of WagonR. It will also go against Maruti Alto, Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-GO and some variants of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. As per our expectations and sources, the prices are likely starting from Rs 2.99 lakhs and might go up to Rs 5 Lakhs.
