The 2018 Honda CR-V has made its official debut in India today. Prices fall in the range of INR 28.15 Lakhs to INR 32.75 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete against the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
Honda Car India has today finally launched the highly anticipated 2018 iteration of the CR-V SUV in India. The next-generation of this full-sized SUV will retail in India in-between the price tag of INR 28.15 lakhs (P-2WD) to INR 32.75 lakhs (D-4WD). The 2WD diesel derivative will cost INR 30.65 lakhs (ex-showroom) to own.
The 2018 Honda CR-V (Read More), as expected, is going to compete with the likes of Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner. The current generation Honda CR-V, unlike its previous iteration in India, now comes in both petrol as well as diesel guises. The petrol engine is the same unit as before. A 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, i-VTEC unit capable of churning out 154 BHP along with 189 Nm of peak torque. While the diesel derivative is a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder i-DTEC unit capable of producing 120 BHP along with 300 Nm of peak torque.
Unlike the international spec CR-V, the diesel derivative of the India spec model comes with only a single turbocharger. This has resulted in a loss of almost 40 BHP of power. However, thanks to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, the oil-burner in the new CR-V seldom feels out of breath.

The petrol derivative of this SUV comes as standard with a CVT automatic gearbox.
Another unique feature of the 2018 Honda CR-V is its 7-seater layout. However, just like the 9-speed AT, this particular feature is only available in the diesel derivatives. Not only this, but the swanky button-operated controls for the gears and the 4WD drive are also exclusive to the diesel iterations only.

This SUV measures 4,592 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,689 mm in height. It is going to clock a wheelbase of 2,660 mm. For the 5-seater petrol variant, the boot capacity stands at 522-litres. While for the 7-seater diesel trims, it stands at 150-litres.
The new Honda CR-V, portrays a completely new exterior design in comparison to the older model. It is based on Honda’s new design philosophy. And hence, looks quite sharp and sporty at the same time. It has all the kit to impress premium SUV buyers in India. It comes with full LED headlamps, fog-lamps and tail-lamps along with a panoramic sun-roof.

On the inside, there are enough creature comforts to spoil the buyer. You get soft-touch materials, leather upholstery, automatic climate control among the others. You also get Honda’s Digipad 2.0, the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
In terms of safety too, the CR-V is no slouch. It offers dual-front airbags along with ABS and EBD. In addition to this, you also get aide and curtain airbags, Brake assists, vehicle stability assist, hill assist along with speed warning system.
