Hero Motocorp has launched the new 2018 Hero HF Dawn in Orissa right now. The rest of India will be receiving the updated Dawn soon.
Hero Motocorp discontinued the old HF Dawn in May last year pertaining to the age of the product. The company has relaunched the commuter motorcycle with a new engine and couple of new features to meet the government regulations. The 2018 Hero HF Dawn marks the relaunch of one of the most popular commuter bikes by the manufacturer. Hero discontinued the HF Dawn back in May 2017. The new HF Dawn has been relaunched with several additional features.

The world’s largest automaker is always keen on introducing new commuter segment motorcycles as they are the bread and butter of the company. This segment alone amount for the sales numbers necessary for the company to have received the title of the world’s largest automaker. Honda did something similar with their Cub and has sold over 5 million units of the same till date. The Cub is for Honda what the Splendor and the HF Dawn is for Hero.The bike gets a new engine, Auto Headlight On (AHO) amongst other cosmetic upgrades. The 2018 Hero HF Dawn is available to order in two colours i.e. Black and Red. The 2018 model features blacked out tail section, suspension, powertrain and headlight nacelle. The drum brake, rims, engine guard and the chain cover have been blacked out as well. The new HF Dawn features minimalistic stickers on the tank and side boxes.

2018 Hero HF Dawn Launch Price
Hero launched the 2018 Hero HF Dawn in Bhubaneshwar at the price of INR 37,400. The bike goes on sale in the state of Orissa right away with the rest of the country expecting a state-wise launch soon. With the introduction of GST, expect the price to remain same throughout the nation.
2018 Hero HF Dawn Specifications
The 2018 Hero HF Dawn features an all-new engine. The 97.2 cc OHC powermill in the HF Dawn replaces the previous year’s unit in favour of better efficiency and cleaner emissions adhering to the government norms. The new 97.2cc OHC engine produces 8.36 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 5,0000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed transmission and powers the rear wheel via a chain-type final drive. The engine sits inside a tubular double cradle frame for extra rigidity and strength.
The new 2018 Hero HF Dawn features telescopic forks at the front while the rear gets twin hydraulic shock absorbers with two-step adjustability. Stopping power comes from 130mm drum brake at the front and 110mm drum brake at the rear. The fuel tank offers 9.5-litres of capacity with the bike weighing 105 kg kerb.
2018 Hero HF Dawn Competition
The 2018 Hero HF Dawn competes with the 100cc bikes by other manufacturers in India. The commuter segment being the bread and butter for most two-wheeler manufacturers, the competition in the segment is fierce. The Bajaj CT 100 and TVS Sport are some of the prime rivals of the recently launched Hero HF Dawn.
