The Datsun Cross concept was unveiled in the 2015 Tokyo Motor show. At the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show Datsun showcased the ‘almost’ production ready version. The current offerings of the brand are based on the CMF-A platform while the 2018 Datsun Cross underpins an extended version of the CMF-A platform called the CMF-A+. Datsun showcased the production-ready Cross earlier this week and it looks quite identical to the concept. With the Datsun Cross, the manufacturer has introduced a new bolder version of the brand’s design language.

2018 Datsun Cross India Launch Price
The upcoming 2018 Datsun Cross India launch is in the pipeline. We expect Datsun to launch the Cross in India by early next year. Considering the love for the body type, Datsun’s customers in India will desperately await the launch. Destined to compete with Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Ford Ecosport, the Datsun Cross is expected to be priced between INR 5-8 lakh.

The 2018 Datsun Cross will share its motor with the Go+, which means it will receive the fairly potent 1.2-litre petrol motor that powers the compact MPV. The engine will be available in multiple states of tune – 68 PS / 104 Nm and 78 PS / 104 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed transmission powering the front wheels.
2018 Datsun Cross Features
The 2018 Datsun Cross is based on the CMF-A+ platform. Designed like a cross between an MPV and an SUV, the Datsun Cross will appeal the buyers looking for either. The design highlights of the concept name, signature chrome grille, LED-infused headlamps, auxiliary circular headlamps, LED foglights, grey lower body cladding, LED tail lights much have been carried over to the production version. The exterior features include projector headlamps, LED DRLs, skid plates front and back, roof rails, a floating roof spoiler with LED brake light and 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Talking about the safety features on offer, the 2018 Datsun Cross features dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) and traction control.

The 2018 Datsun Cross features a black interior with seating for 7 occupants. The dashboard offers a plain simple layout with aircon vents in the middle and each end. The steering wheel features dual tone shade and that is the most exciting thing about it. The jewel of the dashboard is a touchscreen infotainment system that offers Bluetooth, USB and AUX-IN as several connectivity options.
