2018 Audi Q5 India Launch Date Announced. New car is 90 KGs lighter than the last generation.
The 2018 Audi Q5 India launch date is January 18, 2018, which means the second-generation of the SUV is just a month away from its launch in India. Based on the latest MQB platform, the 2018 Q5 loses 90 KGs in weight saving and features even more tech on board. The new model Audi Q5 carries forward similar theme to the bigger Q7 both outside as well as on the interior. Upon launch, the 2018 Audi Q5 will lock horns with the BMW X3, Mercedes GLC and the newly launched Volvo XC60.

Audi has officially announced the launch date of the upcoming Audi Q5 destined for 28th January 2018. The official price list will be available upon launch and we expect the company to price the upcoming 2018 Q5 between INR 32-42 lakh across variants.

The 2018 Audi Q5 will be launched initially with two engine options. The 2.0-TFSI petrol engine has an output of 252 PS while the 2.0-TDI diesel engine churns out 192 PS. Both the engines will come mated to a 7-speed S Tronic gearbox and the power will be sent to all four wheels via Quattro all-wheel drive. The updated Quattro system loses the centre differential in favour of two clutches that control the final drive. The initial clutch lies next to the transmission while the other one replaces the rear differential allowing the 2018 Audi Q5 to completely disengage rear wheels when required in favour of efficiency.

The exterior of the 2018 Audi Q5 features evolutionary design and would look identical to the current generation to the amateur eye. Audi has been working to improve the overall experience of the passengers by improving ride quality and interior space. The 2018 Audi Q5 sits longer, wider and taller then the current generation and the wheelbase has also been stretched by 13mm, out of which, 10mm goes directly to improving rear seat space. Audi claims that the luggage space has been increased to 810-litres as well.

The 2018 Audi Q5 features an upmarket interior with the best-in-class finish and quality of materials. The new Q5 takes cues from both the Q7 and the all-new A8 while retaining the nostalgic cues bits of the previous generation. The cabin holds more room thanks to the increase in overall size of the vehicle. Audi has used Dark Brown Walnut Wood inlays to add to the premium feel of the cabin. The dashboard features a clean layout with the 8.3-inch MMI-screen sitting atop the air-con vents. The 2018 Audi Q5 features three-spoke multi-function steering wheel following which is a customisable 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit TFT display as the instrument cluster.
The seats in the 2018 Audi Q5 feature leather upholstery and the front seats benefit from the 8-way electrically adjustable function with additional heating. The rear seats have increased legroom and headroom and can seat three adults at once.
