Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has come up with a new special edition of two of its most popular bikes – the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. Dubbed as the 2017 Suzuki Gixxer SP and 2017 Suzuki Gixxer SF SP, these new models aim to capitalize on the increased sales during the fast approaching festive season. While the Gixxer SP special edition has gone on sale at a price of Rs 81,175, the Gixxer SF SP costs Rs 99,312. The latter comes with fuel injection and ABS. It’s noteworthy that the new special editions have the same price as the regular models.

The launch of the new 2017 Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP takes plays just days after the launch of the ABS model of the Gixxer. While the new special edition of the full-fairing motorcycle retains ABS and FI, it now gets new body graphics and three new colour options. The same visual updates are also available on its street-naked version. Both the models get bespoke graphics on the fuel tank and front cowl. The duo also gets the new SP badges. The two models can be now bought in a new Orange Black paint. There are no changes in the specifications and mileage of the bikes.

The huge price difference is because of the fact that the new special edition of the full-fairing model comes with ABS and fuel injection. Of course, the fairing alone leads to a considerable bump in the prices. That said, the two bikes get the same engine and same set of updates.

Like we said, the latest special edition doesn’t get any changes to its specifications and mileage. Both the motorcycles come with a smooth and refined 154.9 cc single-cylinder engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine outputs a max. power of 14.5 BHP at 8000 RPM and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6000 RPM. For the full-fairing model, the engine benefits from fuel injection. However, both the motorcycles boast the same power and torque figures.
