Isuzu has decided to give the recently launched MUX a huge price cut ahead of GST implementation. The new SUV is now cheaper by upto 1.59 Lakh! The MUX went on sale for Rs 23.99 Lakh and Rs 25.99 Lakh for 2WD and 4WD models respectively. The recent price cut, however, has brought down the prices to Rs 22.4 Lakh (2WD) and Rs 24.4 Lakh (4WD). A rival to the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, the MU-X replaces the ageing MU-7. The MU-X India launch took place at an event in New Delhi last month. Isuzu assembles the MU-X locally at their facility in Andhra Pradesh. This means prices are pretty competitive. Earlier, the Isuzu MU-X India price range started at Rs. 23.99 Lakh. The 4×4 model costed Rs 25.99 lakh. Now, however, the prices have seen a reduction and the base model MUX now costs Rs 22.40 lakh. The 4×4 model costs Rs 24.40 lakh. At this price point, the new MU-X, especially its 4×4 model, holds a pricing edge over immediate competition. In India, the MU-X’s main competition are- Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Chevrolet Trailblazer. Test drives of the MU X have already commenced at authorized Isuzu India dealerships. Isuzu India is offering a 3 year / 1,00,000km warranty on the MU-X.

In Thailand, the MU-X is available with a 1.9 L Diesel that makes 150 HP and 350 Nm and a 3.0 L Diesel that makes 177 HP and 380 Nm. India-spec MUX features the 3.0 L unit with an automatic transmission option. The new Isuzu MU X gets a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system that allows it to shift between 4WD and 2WD

2017 Isuzu MU X India Review – Exterior Design
Isuzu MU-X’s nose is nearly identical to that of the D-Max V-Cross. It gets a slightly different front grille and front bumper. The latter also houses the LED daytime running lamps. The headlamps get projector units. At the back, the MU-X gets split tail lamps along with a Trailblazer like wraparound glass area. India-spec MU X is the pre-facelift model. The 2017 MY MUX will come to us later. The side profile of the MU-X bears very strong resemblance to the Chevrolet Trailblazer. That is because both SUVs share the same platform.
2017 Isuzu MU X India Review – Interior Design
On the inside, the resemblance to the Trailblazer and V-Cross is stronger. The centre console features a touchscreen unit with vertical AC vents on either side. Placed below the touchscreen is a circular setup for the automatic climate control. Unlike the Trailblazer, the MU-X features a much simpler looking instrument console. The India-spec model will get dual tone ivory-grey interiors. The cabin also features leather seats and seating for 7 occupants.
The MU X offers seven seats. Even with all seven seats in place, there’s sufficient cargo space. gets seven seats and decent cargo space. The manufacturer says that the 3rd row seating comfort was given the prime importance while development of the MU X. It goes on to claim that the 3rd row seating comfort is way better than competition.
