While the North America will soon get a new iteration of the Civic Type R, there’s also a new Si model that’s in the offing! Yes, the Civic Si is back and it’s hotter than ever! Honda has unveiled the 2017 Honda Civic Si prototype at the 2016 LA Auto Show. Speaking on the unveil, Jeff Conrad, Honda’s senior VP and general manager said,”This will be, hands down, the fastest, best-handling Si we’ve ever offered to our customers.” Here’s all you need to know on the 2017 Honda Civic Si –
2017 Honda Civic Si – Specs
Powering the 2017 Honda Civic Si is a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that belts out somewhere between 205-306 horses. All this power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The new Civic Si also gets an active rear steering and dampers, and also a set of high-performance tires.
Honda is even making sure that the Si looks really hot, but definitely not to the extremes of the new Type R. The prototype seen here is wearing a Rallye Red Pearl paint that won’t make it to the production. However, some notable features that could be retained include -Front and rear splitters, rear spoiler, center-mounted polygonal muffler cutter, 19-inch forged aluminium wheels and 235/35Y high-performance tires.

2017 Honda Civic Si – Interior
The interior is as sporty as the exterior. There are several red accents – the floor mats, stitching on the upholstery, instrument console, infotainment unit – everything’s primarily red. The sports seats are exclusive to the Si model. We can also see a “sport” button that probably enables you to make the suspension and power delivery more aggressive.
Honda is also expected to come up with a sedan body type of this car. Launch is expected to happen late next year. Stay tuned for latest news updates and images of 2017 Honda Civic Si.
