Ford India has launched the sporty ‘S’ edition of its Aspire compact sedan. The new 2017 Ford Aspire S has gone on sale for Rs 6.51 lakh. The latest model is available with two engine options -1.2 Petrol and 1.5 Diesel. While it’s surprising that Ford India isn’t offering the 1.5 TiVCT + DCT with the ‘S’ trim, we are of the belief that the Figo’s stonker of a Diesel engine will justify the ‘S’ tag to a large extent. The 2017 Aspire S (Sports) is available with two engine options – 1.2 L Petrol and 1.5 L Diesel. While the Petrol model on sale for a price of Rs 6.51 lakh (ex-showroom), the Diesel model costs Rs 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Aspire Sports edition is upto Rs 35,000 costlier than the regular Aspire.

In terms of engine specifications alone, just like the 2017 Ford Figo S, there is no difference between the regular Aspire and the 2017 Aspire S sports edition model. The latest Ford comes with two engine options – 1.2 Petrol and 1.5 Diesel. There’s no 1.5 TiVCT or the Dual Clutch Automatic transmission on offer. The Aspire S comes with a tweaked suspension to offer sportier road handling.

While the Figo S gets black alloys and a honeycomb grille, the 2017 Ford Aspire S gets the same grille as the regular models. However, it misses out on the chrome finish. The Aspire sports edition also gets an all-black interior instead of the black-beige cabin of the regular model.
