New Hyundai Elantra 2016 – Exterior
The design of the car seems to be slightly inspired by the Hyundai Genesis and Sonata sedans with sleeker looking headlamps with LED daytime running lights, an aggressively designed front bumper and a hexagonal grille (which is becoming a Hyundai staple design piece) with generous usage of chrome. Other design features include an all new tail lamp design complemented by a redesigned rear bumper and rear fenders.
New Hyundai Elantra 2016 – Interior
From the looks of it, the changes to the car’s cabin are pretty radical and the next Elantra features a sportier look on the inside. The official pictures reveal that the car will get a touchscreen infotainment system and some chrome highlights around the wedge-shaped aircon vents. Not much is really known about the upcoming car’s features list but easily expect it to set new benchmarks in its segment for the equipment list.
New Hyundai Elantra 2016 vs Old Elantra
The 2016 MY Elantra differs from the old one, currently sold here, in almost every aspect. On the outside, it’s all new and looks more grown up and mature. Instead of a two-part hexagonal grille you now get one large unit. As compared to the current car, the headlamps and tail lamps boast a much sleeker profile. Wheel arches aren’t as bold as before and, overall, the lines are much straighter. The new design is likely to appeal to a wider range of audience.
It a similar story on the inside as well. The dashboard looks less in-your-face now. It feels more sophisticated and, again, is likely to please a wider range of buyers. Engine and transmission options are likely to be carried over so no significant changes there.
