Volkswagen India has just launched the updated Jetta in the fast growing Indian car market and the new model has gone on sale for a starting price of INR 13.87 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Mumbai). The latest version of the Jetta , which is based on the sixth generation of VW’s popular sedan, has gone on sale across the country and comes with some styling tweaks and additional features over the car it replaces. Styling
The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta made its world debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show this year. For the 2015 model, the popular Volkswagen sedan carries a handful of really subtle styling changes that work together to inject a dose of freshness into the four year old car.
For the exterior, the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift comes with a slightly bolder front grille that seems to mimic the bigger Passat. Also, the headlights gets bi-Xenon elements, along with LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The front bumper gets subtle revisions in the form of larger air-intakes and a new design for the foglights. At the rear-end, the car gets Audi-like LED taillamps.
For the cabin, the 2015 Jetta comes with a new piano black trim, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a new touchscreen infotainment system and a revised instrument cluster.
Specifications
The new model gets the same 1.4-litre TSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine options that were available on the previous model. The 1.4 TSI petrol engine, which comes mated to a six speed manual gearbox, has a max power of 122 PS and a peak torque of 200 NM. This engine variant has an ARAI rated fuel mileage of 14.69 kmpl. The 2.0 TDI diesel engine, which is available with both manual and automatic transmissions, has a max power of 140 PS and a peak torque of 320 NM. This engine has an ARAI-certified fuel mileage of 19.3 kmpl.
