Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is one of the finest automobile manufacturing companies in the world. This British multinational maker has introduced some spectacular products that have been received well in the market. Every JLR product tends to receive immense appreciation and experience staggering sales.
JLR’s latest SUV, 2015 Land Rover Freelander, has recently been spotted in a production ready body. Apparently testing as already started. This SUV is likely to receive either a new scalable steel platform, along with the forthcoming Defender, or the same platform as the present Evoque, the 5 door Range Rover. 2015 Land Rover is expected to be rebranded by JLR as the Discovery and might get slotted just under the full size Discovery model. JLR is presently selling the Discovery as LR4 and Freelander as LR2 in the American market.
The 2015 Land Rover Freelander will feature a tailgate mounted spoiler and twin exhaust outlets. It will also have sweptback headlights and a sloping roofline. 2015 Land Rover has been designed as a seven seater model. Also, this model will be considerably larger than the current model of Freelander. If rumors are true, the US market may get the 2015 Land Rover in 5 Liter V8 option while the European markets may receive a choice in a variety of diesel engines. It is most likely to be powered by the new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that is touted to deliver about 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque.
The 2015 Land Rover Freelander appears to be quite iconic and will surely attract a lot of eyeballs. Nonetheless, this SUV is likely to compete against Toyota FJ Cruiser and Jeep Wrangler among others. The expected price of the 2015 Land Rover when it comes to India is expected to sell for about Rs 40,00,000 which seems like a pretty good price. It will be locking horns with the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60. This SUV is rumored to be unveiled around late 2014 and will be available for sale from the following year.
