Indian Motorcycles has launched the 2015 Indian Scout in our country just weeks after its official launch at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, South Dakota, US.
Termed a spiritual successor to the original Scout which was sold through the 1920’s to 1940’s, the Scout has undergone a certain degree of modernization. A lot of emphasis has been put in making the Scout as light as possible and the light and rigid cast aluminium chassis ensures that the Scout, at 244 kilograms, is the lightest motorcycle in the company’s line-up. An excellent blend of retro looks with modern features, the 2015 Indian Scout should not have any trouble finding buyers.
Price & Availability:
The Indian Scout is available at a price of Rs. 11.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
Bookings are open as of now only at the Gurgaon dealership with deliveries expected to commence later in 2014.
All About The Indian Scout:
Unlike the rest of Indian Motorcycles’ line-up, which are focussed more at providing a comfortable ride rather than performance, the Scout is middleweight cruiser which has been built from ground up to be a fast motorcycle. The 2015 Indian Scout has gone back to the traditional triangular design which was the signature design of the erstwhile Scouts. A set of premium coil is coupled over monotube rear shockers, which give the motorcycle its amazing drivability.
Paint Options
Indian Red, Thunder Black, Thunder Black Smoke and Silver Smoke
In terms of dimensions, the Indian Scout measures 1563 mm in length with a ground clearance of 134 mm and has a low seat height of 643 mm, -as mentioned earlier- carrying a weight of 244 Kgs.
The 2015 Indian Scout is powered by the 1133-cc liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin, DOHC, 4-valves per cylinder engine that has been developed in-house by Polaris for enhanced durability and reliability. The company states that the new engine is a modern design unit featuring closed-loop fuel injection as well as ride-by-wire throttle and is paired to a 6-speed transmission unit. The twin-cylinder engine is capable of producing 100 HP @ 8100 RPM and 97.8 Nm of torque @ 5900 RPM.
The Indian Scout is a bike designed for everyone and you need not have those long hours on road under your belt to be able to tame this beast. Experienced riders would like to test its limits while the novices too would enjoy the confidence it infuses with its handling. With a very appealing and competitive price tag of Rs. 12 Lakh it offers you the exclusivity and performance while being and powerful. From the looks of it, the 2015 Indian Scout is a winner.
