German car manufacturer Audi has revealed the Audi A6 facelift with subtle cosmetic tweaks and major under-the-hood alterations. The car was revealed just ahead the 2014 Paris Motor Show where the car will be launched for international markets. The company has plans to launch two new fuel efficient and powerful “Ultra” models alongside the upgraded versions existing A6 line up. Audi has been busy for the past one year with all the new releases and has now finally decided to give a fine touch up to the luxury model range.
The 2015 Audi A6 Facelift will feature some subtle changes to the outer appearance and a number of weight reducing efforts. The outer looks will include a new single frame emblematic front grille, revised headlights and tail lights, slightly modified bumpers and redesigned exhaust pipes. The cars will be available with optionally configured LED or matrix LED headlights. On the inside we might see the Audi’s new generation modular infotainment system.
The cars will be more aerodynamic in design and thus be more fuel efficient. In addition to these cosmetic alterations the major changes will be under the hood. The cars will get new updated 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines giving out a more cleaner and economical performance. The company has tweaked the 3.0-litre, V6 common rail diesel engine in the A6 3.0 TDI to give out a power of 316 BHP and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. This engine will reach 0 to 100 KMPH in 5.9 seconds with the top speed limited to 250 KMPH. This new engine will replace the 3.2-litre FSI V6. The same V6 has been upgraded to give 341 BHP of power and will be employed in A6 Avant 3.0 TDI competition. These recently introduced twin turbocharged TDI engines have been upgraded to celebrate 25 years of TDI technology.
The company has introduced the Ultra models which will have a reduced weight given to the aerodynamic styling and the springs made of glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP). The GFRP springs weigh 4.4kg less, these tweaks and introductions are sure to give out a less emission and a more fuel efficient performance.
The company has many rivals existing in the same segment namely Mercedes-Benz E-class, the BMW 5-series and the Jaguar XF. But having the stylish classy and hi-tech specifications, the A6 car range will sure deliver high sale stats for the company.
