The facelifted new model of 2014 Honda CB 150R has been spotted at the ongoing Indonesia Motorcycle show and looks like a very interesting product keeping the Indian market in mind. Essentially a naked version of the CBR 150R sold in India, the bike gets totally different styling but same engine. It is uncertain though whether the Honda CB 150R will make it to India or not.
The styling of the Honda CB 150R is nothing exceptional but looks smart nonetheless. The fuel tank mounted appendages and the striking paint job which includes red alloys definitely add a bit of flair and do amke the bike look appealing. As is the case with naked streetbikes, the Honda CB 150R loses the CBR 150R’s front fairing and gets a conventional headlamp unit with matte black surrounds and body coloured elements and a pilot light neatly placed at the bottom of the headlamp.
There were two paint shades on display- Combination of red and White and a comination of Black and White. The Honda CB 150R shares the engine with the CBR which is a 149.4 cc engine producing 18.28 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 12.66 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6 speed transmission.
It is unclear whether the bike will go on sale in India or not but if it does the price would hover around the Rs. 1 lakh mark we expect. Competition for the Honda CB 150R would include the Yamaha FZ/FZ-S Version 2.0 and the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 150Ns.
