The interiors of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, which was showcased for China in April 2014, have been revealed. The Chevrolet Cruze still gets a lot of elements ‘inspired by Chevrolet’s sports-oriented cars like the Crovette or the Camaro. Things like the dual-cockpit design, the three-spoke steering wheel etc. are also featured on the new Cruze, but have obviously been worked on.
The 3-spoke steering wheel is now covered in the same leather that is found on the seats and the dashboard. The instrument cluster gets blue highlights, the centre console is dominated by an 8-inch touchscreen display which is connected to Chevrolet’s MyLink II system which features voice control. The interior of the new Cruze has been worked on for improved space, especially for the rear passengers. Check out the images below:

GM is testing the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze in the USA and spy shots of the car have been published online. The car looks markedly different from the Cruze facelift showcased for the Chinese market in April and we expect Chevrolet India to introduce this model here in the near future.
The design on the test mule is more refined than on the car showcased in China, the headlamp design is the same but the two-part grille is better looking. The fog lamp housing is slightly redesigned. The side profile is the same as the Chinese model, the rear design is slightly different.
The overall design is a big departure from the current model of the Cruze, making it more sleek and less angry. Some Cruze fans may not like the new direction Gm is taking with the Cruze. Check out the spy shots below:

GM has revealed the Chevrolet Cruze facelift for the Chinese market at the 2014 Auto China. It looks radically different from the current model, with swept back headlamps, a larger lower air-dam, new fog-lamp housing, a more rakish front-windscreen, gentler sloping rear-roofline etc. The new design is very mellow as compared the angry looking one on the current model, but it might help sales in China.
Engine options in China include a 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre unit. The transmission options are interesting, the Cruze will be offerd with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT (which is interesting as the unit could be brought to India too, this type is proving very popular here) and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Chevrolet claims that the new engine and transmission combo make the car up to 21 per cent more efficient than before.

There is a possibility that the Chevrolet Cruze facelift we showed you earlier this month may not be launched in India. The photos were taken in China and new information suggest that this model may be specific to the Chinese market. The Cruze sold in India currently is based on the Cruze sold in the US market, and the company will be launching a new model in the market by 2016. Though the Cruze is a global model, this new information already suggests that there will be at least two regional variants of the same car. This situation begs the question whether Chevrolet India will be launching a different version of the Cruze meant just for India or will we get the models launched either in China or in the U.S.
There is also a possibility that Chevrolet India will launch the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze facelift launched in US a few days back (check photos below) sometime this year and launch an all new Cruze in 2016.
We guess only time will tell. But we will let you know as soon as any news on the matter is revealed. Stay tuned to this page for more on the upcoming Chevrolet Cruze.
