When Yamaha India launched the FZ and FZ-S bikes, the company brought an unmatched ride quality to the 150 cc segment which the consumers had not witnessed till then. The FZ range of motorcycles have been quite popular since the time they have hit the Indian roads but the bikes have not seen a major overhaul since the time they have been launched. But Yamaha thinks that launching more colours would help till the major overhaul comes in. The 2013 Yamaha FZ-S has been introduces with many more sporty and vibrant colours which will turn heads on the roads.
And in sync with that, they have just launched more colours for the FZ-S. The FZ-S now gets 4 more paint jobs which have been named as Fearless Black, Glory Gold, Raging Red and Tempest Blue by the company. Yamaha had not announced a 2013 update for the FZ-S series and the addition of the newer colours come as a 2013 upgrade. Yamaha surely knows how to make the best of the two colour paint scheme and have done a decent job again.
The FZ-S got itself a newer rear fender, a kick start lever with the seat getting revised back in 2012. But those were the upgrades we could surely live with. The Yamaha offering may be a great rider but the bike has been similar on the mechanical front ever since the launch of the bike. The engine got itself slightly tweaked in 2012 which improved the ride at lower speeds but it was not something we could not live about.
The FZ-S has 153 cc motor which has a power output of 13.6 BHP and the torque peaks at 13.2 NM. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and the bike’s rear tyre has been the talk of the town right since the day it hit the Indian roads. The only sore point has been the bike’s lower fuel mileage which has been in the range of 30-35 kmpl. Yamaha could surely up the sales of the bikes by launching the engine in a slightly more powerful state of tune without compromising on the fuel efficiency.
