Range Rover is an extremely important model for Land Rover as it completely defines the brand and because of the same only, Land Rover is considered in the list of top premium car manufacturers. Range Rover also forms the foundation of most of the Land Rover products such as Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery and FreeLander 2 and all these models share the basic design and technology with Range Rover.
Coming as a surprise are some pictures of the 2013 Range Rover. This is the second time the car has been spied and the same is expected to go on sale by the end of 2012 or early 2013. There are some noteworthy changes in the design of the car as well as on the technical front.

The 2013 model is speculated to feature a lightweight, rivet bonded aluminium chassis which is based on a modified version of the platform that underpins the Jaguar XJ. A 500 kg reduction in weight could be there engineers are using lightweight materials that could for 40 % weight reduction. These materials will improve the performance and fuel efficiency of the car, with the latter being as high as 33.3 miles per gallon or 12 KMPL.

Codenamed L405, the off-raoder is almost ready for its debut which is expected at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in September. Coming to the styling of the car, the 2013 model seems a little longer and has a considerably lower roofline as well which make it look a little shorter. The headlamps feature daytime running LED lights along with a restyled grille. The car also features a longer wheelbase meaning there will be more legroom for passengers and the stability of the vehicle will also improve.
