Premier Rio, the first real compact SUV of India has just got itself a facelift in its real avatar. The Premier Rio is the Zoyte Nomad in China and it has just got iself a facelift with the 2013 Premier Rio New Model launched in Chinese market. The car now gets a nice mid life refresh which distinguishes the car from its earlier avatar and the refresh is carried on to the interiors of the car as well. The car remains bog similar to its earlier iteration in the mechanical department.
The car now gets a comprehensively refreshed front with new headlamps and a tweaked grille. The bumper is tweaked as well to keep in sync with the refresh and the fog lamps gets a new housing as well. The front fascia of the car now gets slightly more aggressive looking. The car was kind of a boxy one prior to the facelift but now it gets some of those required curves to lend it a slightly more contemporary look.
The Zoyte Nomad or the Rio as we know it will come with a newer set of graphics from now on and the rear view mirrors on the outside will come with integrated blinkers. The rear of the car which remains almost similar except the rear bumper which gets tweaked as well. When you move inside the car, you get treated to completely refreshed interiors. The black interiors now give way to beige interiors which make the car look slightly more premium and airy on the inside.
Also, the rectangular air conditioner vents get replaced by circular air vents now. The car is brought into India via the CKD route from China so India shall get the facelifted version of the car soon as it does not make any sense to manufacture the older kits when the newer version is already there. India is waking up to the concept of Compact SUVs off late and now that Indians have started accepting the Compact SUVs with open arms, we think that the first CUV of the country might just get the respect it deserves and the sales figures it is capable of.
