Mercedes-Benz is revising its complete portfolio and the next member to get visual and technical upgrades is the Mercedes SL-Class. The 2013 model of the same was recently unveiled and as a tradition each model’s launch is followed by a performance edition of the same made by Mercedes AMG.
Mercedes has released the official pictures and details of the Mercedes SL63 AMG, a performance model of SL-Class. The 2013 SL-Class s an impressive machine and has made tremendous improvements on four major things: weight, performance, fuel efficiency and emissions. With the help of an all-aluminium construction, the weight has been reduced by 125 kg. The car is now 30 % more fuel efficient and emits less pollutants than its predecessor.

The AMG edition is available with a choice of two engines. An AMG 5.5 litre V8 ‘biturbo’ (twin-turbocharged) engine comes as standard and delivers 537 BHP of max power and 800 Nm of peak torque. If you opt for the AMG Performance package, the power and torque figures rise to 564 BHP and 900 Nm respectively. The top speed of the standard model is 250 km/h(electronically limited) and it can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. If opted for the AMG performance package, the top speed shoots to 300 km/h(again electronically controlled) and the sprint time improves slightly.

The car has not been launched in India yet but the prices are as follows:
