Land Rover is now owned by Tata and together they are working on new technologies and designs. Taking a crucial step a year back, Tata started manufacturing Land Rover Freelander 2 in India and recently it celebrated the first anniversary of the same.
This SUV is one great option when you are considering cars like Audi Q5 and BMW X3, and as always we were expecting a facelift model of the same for quite some time. Lately the 2013 model of the same was caught without camouflage and disappointingly it is not what we were expecting. Land Rover has not made any drastic changes and instead it looks nearly the same.

Comparing the facelift with the ongoing model only handful of changes are evident. Since the headlamps and tail lamps of the car are under camouflage we expect the brand has restyled them. The grille now gets a different border while the fog lamps now have chrome surrounding them. It is also being said that the interiors will also get a minor update.

Believing in rumors, under the hood the car could get more fuel efficient engines. At present the Freelander 2 comes with a choice of two engine options, a 2.2 litre diesel engine generation 150 BHP @ 4000 RPM and another unit developing 189 BHP @ 3500 RPM of maximum power and 420 Nm @ 1750 RPM of peak torque. Both the engines are coupled to an automatic transmission.
What Land Rover is actually planning to offer in Freelander 2 is still not known and I guess we have to wait until the company officially announces it.
