Can you name some hardcore SUVs? I am sure you will say the popular Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha. Force Motors which announced its passenger car division with the launch of Force One 4×2 last year is gearing up another important launch in the SUV category. After the Force One and the much speculated Mercedes-Benz Viano based MPV, Force will be introducing the all new 2013 Force Gurkha.
The Gurkha has been a well hardcore off-road vehicle and recently, one of the fellow automobile blogs MotorBash, managed to catch the 2013 model of the car. The car was spotted in a sporty red colour and believe us it looks fabulous. The Gurkha is a very capable SUV that draws power from its 2.6 litre motor good for 75 BHP of max power and 195 Nm of peak torque.
The pictures are very informative and tell us what the new car is all about. To start with, there is no Gurkha decal above the front wheel arch as it was in the older model. Instead a Power Steering decal is present there.
Most noticeable change to the design of the car is the headlamps, which are now circular compared to the rectangular ones available on the previous generation model. Now there are a set of sporty roof rails add to the rugged feel of the car. Last but not the least, it sports a nice set of alloy wheels borrowed from Force One SUV, and even the rear mounted spare wheel is an alloy.
Apart from the exterior, some speculations are also being made about the engine of the car. This next generation Gurkha could borrow Mercedes sourced 2.2 Litre FMTECH engine which is BS IV compliant. Also the car would be featuring the Force One 4 wheel drive.
Though it is not known yet what changes the car would come with on the interior part, we expect some quality improvements and a new stylish dash.
What is important to be mentioned here is the upcoming Gurkha will be a seriously potent car and if any of you is considering the Mahindra Thar, we suggest you to wait a while.
