A few months back Maruti Suzuki launched the 2012 iteration of Maruti Ritz. While the media was expecting the launch of both the petrol and diesel models, Maruti chose to introduce the diesel one only. The press release had to say so much about the Ritz, 52 changes to be precise, but the same had no mention of the changes in the petrol model.
Now that the festive season is just around the corner, Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted Ritz petrol for the Indian market. The car was launched in Mumbai and as of yet they have not said anything about the automatic model of the Ritz.
The facelifted Maruti Ritz petrol model is powered by a 1.2 litre, 4 cylinder K-series engine that produces a max power of 83.8 BHP and a peak torque of 113 Nm. The engine is coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission.
Alike the diesel model, the petrol version of the new Ritz too features a number of changes and they are as follows:

- New Ritz petrol VX (without ABS) – Rs. 5.50 lakh
- New Ritz petrol VX (with ABS) – Rs. 5.80 lakh
- New Ritz petrol ZXi – Rs. 6.24 lakh

The diesel model of the facelifted Ritz is starts at Rs. 5.3 lakh and is powered by 1.3 litre DDIS diesel engine that puts out 74 PS of peak power at 4000 RPM and 190 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM. The same is offered with a 5 speed manual gearbox.
