Chevrolet India was expected to launch the new 2012 Chevrolet Captiva in India in April 2012 but due to some unknown reasons the launch got delayed. On June 26th 2012 Chevrolet has finally launched the new Chevrolet Captiva which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2012. 2012 Chevrolet Captiva price starts in India at Rs. 18.74 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for the Manual transmission variant.The new 2012 Chevrolet Captiva is powered by a 2.2 Litre powerful diesel engine which delivers a peak torque of whooping 424 Nm @ 2000 RPM with peak power of 186.5 BHP @ 3800 RPM. There is also an automatic transmission options available with all wheel drive system. The automatic model is new addition to the Captiva lineup in India.
The new Captiva also features numerous cosmetic and feature improvements over the old model which includes much improved styling, much bolder design elements and masculine stance. It is more refined, comfortable and more versatile than the older model with flexible seating arrangement. Some of the noticeable design elements include bold contoured hood, clear lens projection headlamps, large grille and air-dams which give it strong road presence.
It has bold wheel arches with large 17 inch alloy wheels and tyre profile of 235/65 R 17 which not only look good but also give it the much required grip both on and off-road. It offers a maximum of 1565 Litre of boot space with its fold-flat seat design, and now it comes with jet black interiors like the Chevrolet Cruze.
