Last year Ford launched the 2011 Ford Fiesta sedan which in spite of being a good car failed to record good sales as it was priced a little over other popular sedans like Honda City, Hyundai Verna Fluidic etc. A while later then the company previewed the Fiesta sedan with automatic transmission and it was being said that the launch is near.
The year 2011 came to an end and still there was no clue about the automatic Fiesta but lately Ford’s official website has been updated with the automatic Fiesta overlay saying that the car is ‘coming soon’.

Being an automatic car is not that special as the City and Verna Fluidic also come with automatic gearbox but what sets Fiesta apart is the fact that it will be offered with a Dual Clutch Powershift Automatic Transmission. This innovative transmission is popular for its fuel economy and is being used by top car brands only. Thanks to the transmission the automatic variant of the car delivers 16.45 KMPL which is more than what the manual petrol variant does.

Now that the Fiesta automatic is live on the official website we can expect the launch to happen within this month or probably next month. The pricing is still not out and will be announced at the time of the car’s official launch. We do hope the pricing to be competitive so that the car could pick up some sales. In case the pricing is not so optimistic the car might end up having the same fate as the manual sedan.
