Aftermarket car modification has gone to a whole new level in India in the last few years and this 2010 Toyota Fortuner converted into the 2024 Legender is a prime example of that. People head to the aftermarket car shops to make their cars stand apart from the crowd in most cases. However, there are some car owners who look for options to conceal the real age of their vehicles. This latest case in point belongs to that category. Let us take a look at the details of this conversion.
2010 Toyota Fortuner Converted into 2024 Legender
This video comes from 007carcare on Instagram. The host showcases the old Fortuner in the first part of the video. After a while, the video transitions into the final product. The man explains the details of this unique case. This is not just a bolt-on Legender body kit but a thorough procedure. As a result, the front section now gets a new headlight setup, a new bumper, a new bonnet and a large radiator grille. What’s impressive about this version is that he has matched the fender line at the front which makes it look like the original SUV.
At the rear, the car modification house has been able to match the quarter panel line so neatly that it is almost difficult to point out that this is not the original Legender. Other bits include alloy wheels, tyres, side footrests, roof rails, door visors, roof wrap, taillamps, additional lights, etc. On the inside, there is a camel and black interior with new upholstery, a new infotainment display, door panels have been updated and the roof is now heat absorbing. This conversion costs around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh, depending on what you want to customize. All models after 2017 can be converted using the simple Legender kit which costs Rs 1 lakh.
Our View
Now, it is a great idea to get your old vehicle converted into something fresh without having to purchase it. However, I am not sure about the legalities involved in such cases. My suggestion would be to approach your nearest RTO and take the necessary permissions if something like this is allowed. Otherwise, you are bound to get in trouble with the authorities and traffic Police later on. Nonetheless, the fact that a 14-year-old SUV can look like the latest Legender is quite impressive.
