The car restoration process has become extremely popular in recent times and this is yet another example of that
In a latest instance, a 20-year-old Maruti Esteem has been restored by a prominent car shop. Esteem was once an aspirational product in our market. In fact, it was also used as the official vehicle for government employees in many parts of the country. It remained in production from 1994 to 2007. By 2007, there was increasing competition from other cars, as well as Maruti’s own models. Hence, it went out of the assembly line. However, its craze and appeal lived on. That is the reason why we see people trying to restore it even today. Let us delve into the specifics of this case.
20-Year-Old Maruti Esteem Restored
This post stems from FilmShoppee Car Facelift Studio on YouTube. This channel features content around restorations and car customizations. On this occasion, the car shop has the 2005 model in white colour. In order to breathe a fresh lease of life in it, the mechanics dismantle the entire vehicle. Unsurprisingly, they found many dents and rusting parts throughout the vehicle. Hence, they commenced the paint process with many layers of primers and anti-rust chemicals. They chose the BMW’s grey colour for this car. Once the entire body was thoroughly painted inside and out, it was time to upgrade the interior.
As expected, the cabin was worn out too. To lend it a fresh look, the cabin incorporated a black and brown theme. This includes brown seats and black components like dashboard and door panels. The steering wheel was wrapped in a hand-stitched cover which oozes a premium vibe. In fact, the car shop also went as far as installing a new Sony music system in this Esteem with Alpine and Pioneer speakers. It even gets a new set of alloy wheels. To celebrate the completion of this project, the owners were invited to the cake-cutting ceremony. They are evidently happy with the final outcome. In all honesty, it sure looks like a brand-new car.
My View
I have come across numerous instances of people heading to the aftermarket car modification shops to restore their vehicles. We know that cars are not just commodities. For many people, it is an emotion. They get attached to their cars which is why they never want to let it go. That is where restoration processes come into the picture. I respect such people who value their vehicles so much. I shall keep bringing more such cases for our viewers in times to come.
