Maruti Esteem was one of the most popular vehicles in India during the 2000s
In this post, we shall acquaint ourselves with a 20-year-old Maruti Esteem which has been restored to its original glory. Esteem was an aspirational product in our market for a whole bunch of buyers. However, it was discontinued in 2007-08. You will still find it being used as an official vehicle for government employees and officers in some parts of the country. Clearly, it is a rare car in our market which a lot of us have admired in our childhoods. For now, let us take a look at what it looks like after restoration.
20-Year-Old Maruti Esteem Restored
We are able to experience this process on YouTube courtesy of FilmShoppee Car Facelift Studio. The host takes us through the entire restoration procedure. He mentions that it is a 2005 model. Firstly, they needed to paint the entire body for which they had to dismantle it completely. This includes the removal of exterior elements and other components on the inside as well. The repaint incorporates multiple layers including primer and anti-rust chemicals. For this car, they selected a grey colour which you would find on many BMW cars. I must admit the car looks quite stunning from the outside.
However, the car modification house didn’t just stop there. They even worked extensively on the interior. They picked a black-and-brown theme for the cabin which oozes a premium vibe. Apart from that, the steering wheel was wrapped in a hand-stitched cover which matched well with the black and brown seats and dashboard. To enhance the music experience, a Sony audio system was also installed along with Alpine and Pioneer speakers. There are cool new alloy wheels which alter the very appearance of the car. After the work was complete, they took the review of the owner who looked evidently happy on this occasion.
My View
In the last few years, aftermarket car modification houses have become immensely popular in India. People often head to these shops to make sure that their cars look different from the crowd. I can understand the appeal of restoring a 20-year-old car because, in India, people are emotionally attached to their cars. Hence, they want to keep it as a part of the family. Such restoration processes allow that. I shall keep bringing more such cases for our readers in times to come.
