Kia has booked over 1,00,000 Seltos SUVs in just 7 months since the launch of the current model. That is an impressive statistic. It is a testament to the immense demand for the mid-size SUV. In 2023, the Korean auto giant sold a total of a whopping 1.04 lakh units of the Seltos. Note that we are talking about a mid-size SUV and not some entry-level hatchback. Such numbers are representative of the market trend in general and this product in particular. Let us take a look at the details of this case.

1 Lakh Kia Seltos SUVs Booked in 7 Months
As per the official press release by Kia, it was confirmed that since July 2023 (when this model was launched in its facelift avatar), the carmaker has received over 1 lakh bookings. Elaborating further, 80% of these bookings are for top variants (HTK+). Apart from that, over 40% of bookings are for ADAS variants. That showcases how much the Indian buyers value active safety features. Also, over 80% of buyers have reserved the variants with a panoramic sunroof. That validates Indian buyers’ obsession with sunroofs. These numbers offer great insights into the minds of the Seltos buyers.

Author’s Note
Kia Seltos is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs in our market. The only other SUV with more sales in this category is its cousin, the Hyundai Creta. Hence, Korean carmakers have dominated this space for a long time now. However, with stiff competition from the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara, it would be interesting to see for how long the demand sustains. Still, in the current version, the Seltos offers tons of new-age features, options of multiple powertrains and body styling. That is what draws new customers.
