Maruti Dzire has maintained its position as the best-selling compact sedan till now. The manufacturer has sold more than 19 lakh units of the car from the last 10 years.
Maruti Dzire was launched back in 2009 as an affordable sedan. Later in its cycle, it was resized and launched as a sub-compact sedan. The second gen and third gen were smaller sedans.
Since its birth till now, Maruti has sold more than 19 lakh units of the Dzire. In 2018-19, the manufacturer has sold over 2.5 Lakh units. That makes it a rough monthly average of 21,000 units.
It leads the compact sedan market, with an overall share of 55%. Combining the data, we can say that one new Maruti Dzire is sold every two minutes. That’s why one of the best selling cars of India.

The new Dzire adapts a sporty and sleek design language, looking a bit similar to the Swift, as always. Even the earlier generation was a great seller, but the current one has garnered much more sales.
Not only that, the Dzire is a popular choice among Ola and Uber. You will find the regular Dzire and the Tour variant plying as cabs. Its comfortable cabin and the spacious rear seat make it a perfect ride.
On the features side also, the sedan comes loaded with LED headlamps, LED DRLs, rear AC vents, SmartPlay Infotainment System, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and much more.

For engine purposes, the Dzire comes with a 1.2 Litre petrol engine that produces 83 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. The 1.3 Litre diesel engine produces 74 BHP and 190 Nm of torque.
Reports suggest that Dzire Automatic has also received good response as it comes on the petrol as well as the diesel variants. However, the diesel engine is going to be discontinued post BS-6 norms.
Maruti Dzire is priced from Rs 5.69 Lakhs to Rs 9.54 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), rivaling against Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo, Ford Endeavour and Honda Amaze.
